POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a ten week Canada Summer Jobs position within the President & CEO’s Office located at 271 Spadina Rd., Toronto. The student will work in cooperation with the Executive Assistant and CEO to provide a variety of office supports and will be the lead for the 75th Anniversary Booklet Project.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project – 75th Anniversary Booklet
- Assist with daily office functions e.g. photocopying, mailings, etc.
- Conduct internet searches to obtain information for the CEO’s office
- Assist with coordinating events/presentations that are hosted by the CEO’s office
- Participate in presentations with the CEO as required
- Assist in the preparation of presentation materials
- Assist with making community contacts and media contacts as required
- Assist with maintaining office records
- Preparing materials for the CHS website
LINE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Reports to the President & CEO
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment and have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Communications experience an asset
- Previous experience working with individuals who have a hearing loss or who are deaf, an asset
- Previous experience in a social service environment an asset
- American Sign Language (ASL) skills an asset
- Ability to work independently and within a team
