Most butterflies are deaf. That’s one reason The Canadian Hearing Society (CHS) has adopted the butterfly to symbolize the work that we do.  The miracle of transformation that every butterfly goes through parallels the experience of many deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people who, with the help of our programs and support, emerge ready to spread their wings.

To welcome and recognize major donors who join us in our mission, we have created a number of Butterfly Societies at different giving levels.

As a Member of a Butterfly Society, you will have the satisfaction of seeing your gift work at two important levels:

• 50% of your gift will support local services delivered through the CHS office of your choice
• 50% of your gift will support the work we do at the broader societal level – public policy development, research and distribution of information, the provision of unfunded services – that will have a positive impact on Canadians with hearing loss wherever they live 

To become a Founding Member of a Butterfly Society, make a five-year pledge of an annual gift at your chosen level. Fill in the  Butterfly Society Gift Notification Form or contact us.
