Sign Language Classes

Have you always wanted to learn sign language?  CHS invites you to learn more about this rich, expressive language and the proud heritage of the Deaf community.  Our American Sign Language (ASL) classes are taught by qualified Deaf instructors.  From beginner to advanced, courses are offered throughout the year.  Is your organization interested in having your staff learn ASL?  Special contracts can be arranged.

Educational Support Services

Are you culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened, or hard of hearing and need access to your part-time post-secondary education? CHS provides sign language interpreters, computerized notetakers, and/or assistive listening devices to provide students with an equal opportunity for academic success.

Literacy

Are you deaf, deafened or hard of hearing and want to learn or improve your American Sign Language (ASL) as well as develop English, math and pre-employment skills?  Are you a newcomer to Canada? Our Literacy programs teach you ASL and Deaf culture; English and math; personal daily living skills and employment preparation.  Classes are taught in ASL.  Eligibility requirements vary from region to region, so be sure to contact your local office to find out more about the program in your area.
