| Position Status: | Permanent; Part-time; 7 hours per week |
POSITION SUMMARY:
Key member of the fundraising team, assist with the co-ordination of all fundraising programs, including processing receivables, responding to donor inquiries, tracking Nevada activities, processing memberships, assisting with monthly reports and special events, and providing general assistance to the fundraising staff.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Service:
• Maintain FR100, the fundraising database including the input of new donor files, changes to donor records and preparing mailing and membership lists;
• Track Nevada BOT activities, prepare reports as required and consult with gaming suppliers on a regular basis to maximize results;
• Process membership mailings including renewals;
• Process regional fundraising deposits and liaise with regions as required;
• Assist with monthly reports for internal use, including reports for Regional Directors and other Departments;
• Assist with the co-ordination of fundraising events & activities, e.g. eBay auction; CHS Quest
• Process and assist with Tribute/In Memory giving;
• Handle the processing of all receivables, including cheques, cash and monthly pledges;
• Field incoming/outgoing phone calls, including the processing of donations by phone;
• Co-ordinate the processing of all CHS tax receipts;
• Co-ordinate the daily workload of the Data Entry Clerk to ensure accurate, consistent and timely processing of all database input;
• Liaise with staff and volunteers in support of fundraising programs;
• As a member of the FR team, participate in nurturing relationships with donors, potential and existing, e.g. meet & greet;
• Other duties as assigned
Administration:
• Maintain and update donor files as required;
• Maintain and update monthly report files as required;
• Respond to phone or mail requests;
• Maintain contact with existing gaming suppliers and track results;
• Assist with donor communications and stewardship.
Professional Development:
• Attend specialized workshops/seminars related to position, e.g. ASL – acquire and maintain to Level 6 (Intermediate Plus); Fundraising and Fundraising software;
• Keep up to date on issues and information related to the profession, position and agency;
• Attend staff meetings as required.
LINE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Reports to Manager, Individual Giving
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post Secondary Diploma, Fundraising, Business, Marketing or Accounting; or equivalent;
• Minimum 3 years experience in fundraising, marketing, or public relations within a charitable/non profit environment;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet and fundraising software, preferably FR100
• Strong written English skills;
• Strong detail and follow-through skills;
• Well organized and customer service-oriented;
• Ability to juggle simultaneous activities, work under pressure and meet deadlines;
• Proficiency in ASL or willingness to learn
• Demonstrated sensitivity to working in a diverse environment
