How to browse this website

Throughout this website, you will see many ways The Canadian Hearing Society has worked to make resources more accessible for everyone.

At the top of every page, you will see font sizing, language options and a search bar.  To help all of our users read and view the website at their own comfort level, a simple click on the font controls will increase or decrease the size of the text on each page.

Also, the site is available in four languages - English, ASL, French and LSQ.  English and ASL are grouped together, as are French and LSQ.  Simply click on the language of choice, and our content will be available to you in your preferred language.

To view ASL or LSQ, you will see buttons to the right of the written content.  Click on the button, and a window will open in the bottom left corner of your screen with the signed language of your choice.

Finally, some pages also have a special banner at the top, with a description of the type of information you'll find on that page.  These banners include your preferred signed language, voiceover and captioning, for all accessibility needs.  The player is accessible by screen reader as well, with standardized keyboard-activated functions to play, pause, mute, and more.

Here at CHS, we strive to meet and exceed WCAG 2.0 AA standards for all of our website content.  If you have any suggestions, questions or criticisms, please contact us.
