The unit is hardwired into your existing household wiring for great reliability (must be installed by a certified electrician) and offers extra confidence with a test button to check functionality.

Worry-free 9-volt battery back-up (included) for auditory alarm (85 dB) only in case of power failure.  Kidde Remote Visual Signaling Device (for optional strobe) sold separately.
